Volunteers of the Janajagrugthi forum make regular house visits of the poor people to enquire whether the  require assistance ofJanajagruthifor treating the addicts in the family if any.  House visits are also made to meet the deaddicted members.  The volunteers consist all village members,field staff of SKDRDP and deaddicted themselves.  During the current year a total of 25,850 house visits were made.

Massive village level camps are regularly held which consist of   addresses by the spiritual leaders, doctors and former addicts.   The main aim of the programme is to create better awareness on the evils alcoholic abuse, prevent youngsters in the village from talking to alcohol and bring harmony within the village.  During the current year 283 awareness programme were conducted benefiting 51,000 families.

Deaddiction camps are conducted in different villages based on the demands raised by the district and taluk level committees for conduct of such a camp.  Wide publicity is given to organize the camps. So that addicts can directly join the camps.  Many times the family members, friends, local community will bring theaddicts to the camps.  For managing the camps local level committee is organized who scout for the premises and other local facilities.  The local committee contributes in kind like rice, vegetables, fruits and flowers etc. to run the camp.  The participants are expected to pay Rs. 500/- for the residential one week treatment.  The camp is invariably residential nature and has programmes starting from 5.00 am in the morning till 10.00 pm in the night. The services of local doctor mostly from the Govt. hospital and other private hospital are sought to voluntarily to visit the camp to treat the campers. The Janajagruthi forum provides the services of the camp officer who also acts as the chief counselor.   The community rejoices in preparing participating in camps and take care of the campers. The service of yoga and therapists are also used on a daily basis. During the current year 119 camps were held and 8957 members were treated.

After the de addiction camp is over a village forum comprising of the deaddicts of the village is formed which is called as Nava Jeevana Samithy or New Life Committee. These committees meet every fortnight to discuss about various aspects of better living, prevention of alcoholic abuse and improving the standard of living. The Janajagrughi programme keeps in touch with the deaddicts by writing to them periodically and enquiring about their welfare.  During the year 440 Navajeevana samithis are functioning with 3132 active members.

This is one of the major event of the Janajagruthi forum, in which, on  Gandhi Jayanthi day at various centres in the state, deaddicts come together to celebrate the Gandhi Jayanthi.   The public also join the celebration.  Dr. D.Veerendra Heggade and office bearers of Janajagruthi forum take keen interest in attending Janajagruthirallies on Gandhi Jayanthi Day. During the current year 110 programmes were held.   Dr. D.VeerendraHeggade personally addressed rally at Sullia, more than 1.00 lakh people participated in the programme on October 2^nd, 2015.

Religious function are organized by village level committees used to create awareness on the evils of alcoholism. In these functions spiritualism is used as a force against alcoholism.  A festival occasion is chosen to discuss alcoholism at the village level. ShanishwaraPooja, Sathyanarayana Pooja, village level bhajana etc. are organized and chosen to spread the message of Janajagruthi. During the year 243 programmes were conducted in which more than 1.00 lakh members were participated.

To create awareness among the housewives mass meetings and camps are organised involving Mahilamandals. The women folk which silently suffer in the hands of the alcohol and some of them who also take alcohol are involved in the Janajagruthi programme to come out openly against alcoholism in the family and in the society. Many women have joined the Janajagruthi forum the movement.  During the year 135 women associated Janajagathiprogrammewere  conducted in which 25,000 women were participated.

The office bearers of the Janajagruthi forum respond to policy changes effecting the poor with special reference to gutka, alcohol and drugs. In different districts all office bearers meet the district people representatives like, MPs, MLAs, ZillaPanchayath, TalukPanchayath, Gram Panchayath and Govt. officials  like District Deputy commissioner, Superintendent of Police, District Commissioner(Excise), etc. to bring to their attention on the issues related to alcoholism and drugs in the area.  During the year 42 such policy advocacy damps were conducted.

During the year State Janajagruthi committee met 2 times and all the district committee put together met 37 times. 25 Taluk level meetings 310 villages level meetings  were held for the smooth  implementation of the Janajagruthiprogrammes.

During the  year 659 schools and colleges were visited by the resource persons of the Janajagruthi forum to address 1,00,632 students.
